Letting Go

People make it look so easy. I can’t tell you the number of people I have seen/heard of who come right out of a relationship only to go into a new one or hook up with a bunch of randoms to feel something.

But that just isn’t me.

When I love someone, I love them with every fiber of my being. I give them my all and sometimes it leaves me more vulnerable and hurt in the end.

That’s the risk you take when you decide to be with someone, isn’t it?

You risk getting heartbroken for the beautiful, all-consuming love. Falling in love with someone can never be a mistake. For falling in love is one of the most amazing feelings in the entire world. Nothing beats the feeling of having someone who loves you just as much as you do them. To know that they have your back and it’s both of you against the world is indescribable.

Falling in love changes you. It pushes you past limits you didn’t even know you had. It makes you question yourself and the morals you held before.

It can build you and break you down, all at once.

There’s never been a moment where I have regretted the love I have put forth regardless of the pain that it has left behind.

Letting go of that love is nearly impossible. You can’t simply unlove another human being. You can try and block them on everything, never see them again, and to never think about them again (also near to impossible because you are human) but that feeling will always remain. It may fade as the years go by of not seeing them. And yes, you will fall out of love with them eventually. But you will always love them and care for them regardless of the situation that was at hand before.

Those moments you shared with them can’t be erased. They are etched within your brain and heart.

But you can move forward and accept that the love you had will always be a part of you. It can teach you lessons and make you treasure your next love even more.

Letting go and moving on is a necessity, at times. Whether it’s relationships that just didn’t work out or relationships that outgrew one another, it ends and you have to go on.

It’s not going to be easy and it’s going to cause you so much pain but you have got this. Whatever the situation may be, just keep pushing through.

All you may see right now is darkness and negativity. Holding the belief that you will never find someone else again.

But you will. You will be happy again. You will venture out of the darkness and into the light. You will be able to love again, to open your heart again. And when you do, it will be even more open to love. Give yourself time, do not rush.

Just let go and keep moving on. Focus on bettering yourself as much as you can and everything else will follow through.

I Want To Travel The World

If there’s one thing that I want to do in life, its to travel the world.

I want to experience every culture, see every country, and be in the shoe’s of others lives.

I want my perspective to change and grow.

I want to be amazed at all the beauty that lies within the roots of humanity.

To see how different we are, yet how similar.

To meet people who influence my mind in ways I didn’t even know were possible.

I want my breath to catch at the sight of something so magnificent.

I just want to live life so fully that I look back later in life and say, “God damn, was I lucky”.

I want an endless amount of memories from my travels, no matter how far or close they may be.

I am ready to take on this world and travel across it, as much as I can.

Cozumel, Mexico

It was the first time that I had ever been to Mexico.

I didn’t know what to expect.

It was breathtaking. The waters were a deep, crystal blue that differed from the dirty Jersey shore waters that I was used to.

The sun was beaming down on us but a nice breeze wavered over to lessen it.

My two cousins, Nicole and Kristina, and I rented a Jeep for the day. We just drove around Cozumel, exploring the seas and getting a feel for what Mexico was all about.

When stepping off the cruise ship, we were bombarded by an endless amount of people asking if they could give us a tour or to buy ‘this’ or ‘that’.

After picking through the different car deals, we found ours for a good price and we were off.

We had no idea where we were going, all we used was a map that we picked up randomly.

Driving, the views were insane. The bluest waves crashed down onto the white sand, rocks covered the edge of the water. There was so much wildlife, lizards, exotic birds, greenery, the land was just so lively and beautiful.

We blasted Spanish music and cruised down the winding roads with the windows down. A smile never leaving my face as I soaked up the sun rays.

Our time was limited but we made the best we could out of it. Whenever we drove past anything that looked interesting or different, we stopped to explore.

We saw multiple beaches, stopped at tiny shops on the side of the road, and climbed up a tower that had at least 500 steps.

Honestly one of the best parts was after we had been traveling all over Cozumel, we tried to look for a good place to eat.

We found a little shack hidden on the side of the road, with a restaurant connected to a shop with unique little trinkets.

Walking in, there were words covered all over the walls, the tables, the chairs, and the ceiling. Writings of names, lovers, friends, families, and musicians.

As we ordered our food, a mariachi band was singing to different tables and made their way to ours. Their voices and instruments were loud and boisterous, you couldn’t help but move along with the beat.

The restaurant was pulled up right against the sea. The waves lapped over the cement that lied at the end of the building. You could hear birds chirping as they flew over the waters.

After our meal, they gave us shots of tequila for our farewell.

I wish we could have stayed there longer but the time we spent there was so worth it. I’ll just have to make it my mission to go back there and really explore all of the parts of Mexico.
